Rastafari (sometimes called Urastafari) is a religion founded in Jamaica in the 1930s. Sometimes this religion is also recognized as a lifestyle and cultural movement.
✍🏻Rastafaris often use the flag of Ethiopia from the time of Haile Selassie's rule. The flag has the symbol of the Ethiopian kingdom of the lion of Judah and the colors green, yellow and red.
Rastafari refer to their beliefs, which are based on specific interpretations of the Bible, as "Rastalogy". its basis is the belief in one God who is known as Yahu (Jah) who lives in everyone.
The former king of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie, is given special importance. Many Rastas see him as the incarnation of Jah on earth and as the second coming of Jesus Christ. others see him as a human prophet who fully realized the divinity within each person.
Rastafari focuses on Africa, and the African diaspora that they believe is oppressed within Western society, or "Babel". many Rastars emphasize the call for Africans in western countries to return to Africa, especially Ethiopia. They believe that the continent of Africa is the Promised Land of "Zion".
Marasta call their way of life "life" (livity). their rituals are called "groundings", and include music, singing, discussion and cannabis, which is seen as a sacrament.
Many Marastas eat natural foods without meat or salt (these foods are called itali), they let their hair grow without being combed or cut (dreadlocks).
it is believed that there are an estimated 1 million Rastas in the world.
One of the most famous Rastafari in the world is the King of Reggae, Bob Marley.

green: The natural world, the environment of Africa, and the land of Ethiopia.
Yellow: The natural wealth of Africa, grace, and blessings of Jah.
Red: Blood spilled by black freedom fighters.
