about God making decisions about where a person should be laid to rest after death:

 In the Bible, it is stated that decisions about life after death are made at the time of a person's death. When a person dies, his soul does not remain in obscurity for many years. for example, Luke 16:19-31 gives the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. When they both died, Lazarus went to "Abraham's bosom" (a symbol of the place of pleasure), and the rich man went to the place of torment. This shows that decisions are made immediately after death.

about the condition of a person who died with God: The Bible says that after death, believers who believed in Jesus Christ go to be with the Lord immediately. In 2 Corinthians 5:8, Paul says, "We would rather leave the body and be with the Lord." This means that when a person dies in Christ, his soul is immediately with God.

Regarding prayers for the dead: In the Christian faith, the Bible does not teach that prayers can change a person's condition after death. Hebrews 9:27 says, "And just as men are appointed to die once, and after death judgment." This shows that after death, there is no opportunity to change one's destiny. Thus, our prayers for the dead cannot change God's judgments or decisions for them.

about the concept of punishments in the grave: The concept of suffering in the grave for many years is a belief that exists in other cultures, but it is not directly taught in the Bible. in the Christian faith, a person's soul does not stay in the grave but goes before God or to the place of torture according to how he lived his life here on earth (Luke 16).

Therefore, asking someone to reduce the suffering of the grave is a concept that does not come from the Bible. The Bible clearly states that everyone will give an account of his life after death (Romans 14:12), and his destiny cannot be changed by prayer after death.

In short, the Christian faith emphasizes that decisions about where a person will go after death are made immediately after death.     Our prayers should be done while people are alive, so that they can have a chance to receive Jesus Christ and live according to God's will.
